Building HourOps - A unified workforce platform with interactive onboarding
Hey Lounge!
I'm Sriram, a software engineer and founder building HourOps.com. My background is deeply rooted in the developer ecosystem. I previously built advanced autocomplete npm packages for Angular, React, and Vue, and I also maintain readme.now, an open-source developer toolkit.
Our team used multiple different SAAS platforms to create projects - tasks, leaves - timesheets and raising invoices with absolutely no control over data as they are split between multiple platforms.
I took this opportunity to solve a friction point in the workforce management that lead to build HourOps.com which covers all the areas with proper data control for the users.
What I built:
HourOps is live and connects the entire operational workflow. A few core areas we focused on:
- Granular Data Isolation: Allowing companies to spin up completely separate sub-workspaces for vendors or contractors while keeping data distinct, but allowing sharing of projects and tasks.
- Role Customization: Providing deeply granular roles (like PMO Admin or Auditor) out of the box, even on our free tiers.
- AI Operations: An assistant layer allowing admins to handle internal actions like approving leaves or creating tasks purely through text commands.
- Interactive UX demo where customers can play with a simulated environment and feel how the SaaS looks before they proceed to sign up.
Excited to be here, follow your updates, and learn from this community!

The interactive demo before signup is the right call. Most ops tools make you talk to sales to see the product; letting someone feel the workflow first should shorten your trial-to-paid cycle a lot.
