Over half the AI builders ranked on AI-Atlas are European. Where does your country stand?

Hi everyone, I’m Alex, an 17 year old kid from Romania, aspiring to become an AI researcher. I built AI-Atlas: it reads the actual code in your public GitHub (not your imports, not your stars) and maps what you’ve really built in AI across 6 fields (ML, computer vision, data science, NLP/LLMs, agents, MLOps), with a score and evidence for every project.

One thing surprised me in the first week: Europe is carrying the leaderboard. 17 of the 30 ranked builders are European, from 12 countries so far: Germany, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Spain, Poland, Sweden and more. The US is behind.

Every country has its own board, and some still have just one or two people on them, so it’s very possible to be #1 in your country right now.

👉 Map your GitHub (free, ~3 min): getaiatlas.com/?ref=lounge-eu

Claim your Atlas and you appear on your country’s board, and on a field board if you have work there. If you’d rather not be listed or indexed, just don’t claim it.

I’d love to hear from European AI builders, researchers and founders: what does your AI scene look like where you are? 👇

Scoring people on the code they actually wrote, not their stars or follower counts, gives quieter builders in places like Cluj or Kraków a fair shot at getting noticed. Country boards with only one or two names on them are a clever hook too, because being #1 in your country is something people will happily share.

Thanks Ryan, that’s exactly the bet 🙏 Stars and followers mostly measure who already has an audience. Two people can write equally good code, and the one with 10k followers gets noticed while the one in Cluj doesn’t. Reading the actual code is my attempt to level that. And you’re right about the country boards: right now a lot of countries have just one or two people on them, so being #1 in Poland or Romania is genuinely within reach for anyone who maps their GitHub this week. A few people have already shared their country rank, which is exactly the loop I was hoping for. If you know quiet builders who deserve to be seen, send them my way: getaiatlas.com 🌍
