GoalT replaces flat to-do lists with a goal graph: one root goal, and every piece of work linked to the goals it serves. A task can serve several goals at once, and value flows down from each of them, so priorities emerge from real dependencies instead of being set by hand.

It ships as a Claude Code plugin. Run /goalt:start in any repo and Claude maps the codebase into a goal tree, linking each goal to the files that implement it. A live dashboard then shows which goal the agent is working on as it edits, and which goals have uncommitted changes. Humans and AI agents share the same map of WHY.

Open source (Apache 2.0), on PyPI as goaltree, 62 tests. Concept-stage and looking for people to poke holes in it.

Seeing which goal the agent is working on while it edits is the part that stood out to me. For a small team handing a lot of its coding to Claude, that makes it much easier to tell whether today's work actually moves the main goal forward.
