About Craft Ventures

Overview

Craft Ventures invests from seed to growth in software and AI companies, including Supabase.

History and team

Craft Ventures was founded in 2017 by David Sacks and Bill Lee. Sacks was previously COO at PayPal and founder of Yammer. Lee was previously at Remarq and Big Fish Games. Press at the time reported that the first fund was targeted at $350 million. Third-party reporting says the firm closed $1.32 billion across Craft Ventures IV and Growth II in November 2023. Craft's own site has not confirmed that figure. The portfolio page names partners and investors by company, including Jeff Fluhr, Bryan Rosenblatt, Brian Murray, Lainy Painter, Michael Robinson, Kindle Van Linge, Dan Moor and Kevin Gabura. Craft announced on X in June 2026 that Kyle Parrish had joined the firm. Craft has no separate AI team. AI deals are led by the same partners who cover enterprise software, security and other sectors.

AI investing

Craft describes itself as a B2B technology investor. Its AI portfolio is mostly applied AI and AI-related infrastructure sold to businesses. Examples on its portfolio page include Replit (invested 2023), OpenEvidence (2025), Glean, Norm Ai, Horizon3.ai, Crew AI and Cartwheel. Craft also backs AI-adjacent security companies such as Upwind. It has taken part in rounds at ElevenLabs and at 8090 Solutions, whose $135 million Series A was led by Salesforce Ventures. In the Norm AI $120 million Series C, Craft was a participant and Khosla Ventures led. On the Lounge deals desk, the HYFIX Spatial Intelligence seed round is marked as led. The same desk lists Ent.AI ($100M seed), Noetive ($41M seed), Samepage ($4.8M seed) and Arceus Legal ($17M venture round).

Stages and check sizes

Craft invests from pre-seed through growth. Its portfolio page labels positions as angel, seed, Series A, Series C and growth, and some are marked as led or co-led. Craft does not publish a check size range. Third-party directories give conflicting estimates, from $500K to $10M on one and $50K to $50M on another. Treat these as unverified. Tracxn reports an average round size of about $6.3M for Craft's seed deals and $16.8M for its Series A deals. Those are total round sizes, not Craft's own checks.
