Amplify Partners
About Amplify Partners
Sunil Dhaliwal, a former Battery Ventures investor, founded Amplify Partners in 2012. Mike Dauber joined from Battery in August 2014. At that point the firm had one fund of about $50 million and two partners. Fund I closed at $49.1M in March 2014. Later flagship funds were $125M, $200M, $275M (Fund IV, announced with a $100M Select fund), $400M (Fund V, June 2022, with a $300M Select fund) and $400M (Fund VI, June 2025). The June 2025 announcement also covered a $300M Fund VI Select for follow-ons and a $200M Amplify Bio I fund for digital biology, which brought the total to $900M. The general partners listed by Dealroom and F4 are Sunil Dhaliwal, Mike Dauber, Lenny Pruss and Sarah Catanzaro. Barr Yaron, David Beyer and Elliot Hershberg are listed as partners.
Sarah Catanzaro joined in 2017 and became a general partner in 2022. Third-party profiles link her to the AI infrastructure stack, from data curation to ML tooling. Those profiles name Runway, LangChain, Modal Labs, Hex, DatologyAI and WarpStream among her Fund V investments. Mike Dauber focuses on infrastructure, developer tools, AI and cybersecurity. The firm also offers a Build Team with go-to-market, recruiting and design support, and Natasha Katoni is its operating partner for talent. Recent deals show a mix of lead and participating roles. Amplify took part in SkyPilot's $20M seed, which Lux Capital led. It joined Reactor's $59M round, which Lightspeed led. It also took part in Niteshift's $7M seed (June 2026), led by Greylock.
Amplify describes its focus as the earliest stage, including seed, and it follows on through Series A and later rounds. Its Select funds exist to back existing portfolio companies as they grow, and SiMa.ai's $150M Series C shows that range. In 2014 the firm said it would invest $50,000 to $1.5 million. In a Fund III interview, Dhaliwal said Amplify does not set a minimum check size. The firm does not publish a current check range. Third-party databases estimate $500K to $10M, but these are unconfirmed.
