How many AI founders have actually thought about this?
Hot take: 90% of AI startups are building features, not companies. Better question: If OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic can ship your entire product as a feature tomorrow, what exactly are you building that will survive?

I'd push back a little on the 90%, because OpenAI, Google and Anthropic build tools for everyone, not for one kind of customer. A startup that owns a single group, like dental offices or freight brokers, and becomes part of how they run their day is hard to replace with a new feature, since switching would mean retraining the whole team and losing the people who know their business.
