Your QCon cohorts and O'Reilly readers are the easiest first subscribers you'll ever get, so I'd put the newsletter signup on the last slide of every cohort session and on your author page. I'd also narrow the pitch from "AI topics for techies" to something like "AI for software architects," since that's the audience that already knows and trusts you.
