Hello from the Sacramento area! Making AI approachable with Discover AI
Hi everyone! I'm Danielle, joining from the Sacramento, California area!
I'm the creator of Discover AI, a free community education initiative focused on making artificial intelligence approachable, practical, and accessible to everyday people, especially beginners who may feel overwhelmed by the technology.
I'm preparing to host my first free community AI workshop in November, and I'm also exploring AI application development through hackathons and personal projects.
Two projects I'm working on involve turning messy notes into actionable plans and helping people recognize potential privacy risks before sharing information online.
I'm especially interested in responsible AI, community education, practical applications, and finding creative ways to make this technology genuinely useful.
I'd love to connect with fellow builders, educators, and AI enthusiasts, especially anyone in the greater Sacramento area!
I'd love to hear: What have you found most effective when introducing AI to people who are completely new to it?
Looking forward to learning from everyone and sharing what I discover along the way!

Welcome to Lounge, Danielle. A free workshop in November for complete beginners is a great way to learn what people actually worry about. Who do you picture walking in the door, and how are you getting the word out around Sacramento?
Welcome Danielle! Love the privacy angle for beginners, it's the part most workshops skip. If it's useful for the November session, we keep a set of free browser tools with no sign-up that work well as live demos: remove EXIF/GPS data from a photo before posting it, check whether an image carries Google's SynthID or other AI watermarks, and an AI text detector so people can see how unreliable those scores really are. All at promopilot.link/tools. Happy to help if you want a short walkthrough for the group.
