Vaisala Xweather
Vaisala Xweather is the weather and environmental intelligence brand of Finland's Vaisala. It was launched in September 2022 and combines Vaisala's sensor networks and forecast models with acquired businesses. It sells a Weather API, mapping tools, hail and road-weather forecasting, the Xweather Protect alert service, and an MCP server for AI agents. These are sold as subscription data and software services to developers and to enterprises in energy, insurance, finance, transportation and automotive. Vaisala bought AerisWeather, which had 2021 net sales of USD 3.2M, for USD 26M in January 2022. It added WeatherDesk (from Maxar) and Speedwell Climate in 2024.
