Hi all, Hesham here: materials scientist turned agentic AI builder

Hey everyone, thanks Ryan for the invite.

I'm Hesham, based in Bochum, Germany. PhD in computational materials science from ICAMS (Ruhr-Universität Bochum), where I'm now a postdoc working on agentic AI for materials science. I'm also Technical Lead at OpenPhase Solutions, and I run my own shop, AutonomousLab, plus VelocityMind for enterprise multi-agent systems.

What I'm building:

  • matsim.ai: AI agents that set up and run materials simulations (coming soon)
  • figlab.ai: AI-generated scientific figures and diagrams
  • CoalitionKit: open-source platform where everyone brings their own agent and the agents team up over A2A, with MCP and generative UI. Built it for the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon
  • SwarmWeaver: autonomous multi-agent coding with parallel git worktrees and approval gates
  • A writing series on Agent Reliability Engineering, basically what it takes to get agents from demo to production

What's working: figlab.ai is live and getting used. And going deep on the protocol stack (MCP, A2A, AG-UI, ADK) has paid off a lot. Agents in science and engineering need real verification, not just vibes, and that's where I keep finding gaps nobody covers.

One thing I need: a co-founder. I'm solo right now. Ideally someone strong on go-to-market or enterprise sales who gets deep tech, or a builder who wants to work on agents for science and simulation.

Happy to help anyone with multi-agent architecture, MCP servers or agent evals. I am glad to connect with folks building for Europe or around the globe!

    Welcome to the community, Hesham!
Really impressive stack and background — standardizing multi-agent interactions via MCP and A2A is where the real leverage is right now. I'll definitely check out your work on CoalitionKit and figlab.ai!

By the way, back in August 2025, I published a concept on modular AI partner ecosystems, focusing on role- and mode-based agentic architectures:

Looking forward to following your progress here!
