Meta acquires AI coding startup Conductor for undisclosed terms
Conductor lets developers spin up software projects by deploying several agents into parallel workspaces. The startup was founded in 2024 and launched its core product only in the summer of 2025. Its founder and chief executive, Charlie Holtz, said on X that the company would ship something new for customers early next year.
Meta confirmed the acquisition but did not disclose the price or further terms. Axios first reported the deal. Holtz said he expects to work with Alexandr Wang, Meta's chief AI officer, and Nat Friedman, who leads product for Meta's Superintelligence Labs.
For founders building coding agents, a deal like this shows that large labs will buy workflow startups to close gaps in developer tools. Independent agent tooling teams should plan for a market where a few well-funded platforms control distribution to engineers.
