Mendix is a cloud-based low-code platform. Developers and business users build web and mobile applications with visual drag-and-drop tools, and the company has added AI-assisted development features. It sells to large enterprises worldwide through a SaaS model. It was founded in Rotterdam in 2005 and raised about $38M in venture funding before Siemens acquired it in 2018 for a reported $730M in cash. It now operates as a Siemens business with its US headquarters in Boston.
