Core Automation
Core Automation, founded in 2026 by former OpenAI research VP Jerry Tworek, is building what it calls the world's most automated AI lab. It is pursuing new learning algorithms and architectures meant to replace large-scale pretraining and reinforcement learning, with an emphasis on continual learning. It is pre-revenue and venture-funded, and it uses its own AI agents to augment a small team of researchers. Sources conflict on funding: a $100M round in May 2026 is reported (Accel, Nvidia and Spark Capital are named), PitchBook lists a $432M Series B, and Forge shows about $532M raised in total.
