Centro, founded in Chicago in 2001 by Shawn Riegsecker, rebranded as Basis Technologies in October 2021. Its Basis platform automates planning, programmatic, search and social media buying, reporting and financial reconciliation, with AI-driven search tools added through the acquisition of QuanticMind. It sells software plus managed services to ad agencies, advertisers and publishers. It raised about $52.5M in total, including $22.5M in 2010 and $30M in 2015. Centro reported more than $150M in revenue in 2019 and had about 700 employees then.
