Upstox is an Indian online brokerage and investing platform where retail investors and traders buy stocks, derivatives, commodities, mutual funds, IPOs and ETFs.
Upstox, run by RKSV Securities India Pvt Ltd and founded in 2009, is a discount broker. Its mobile and web apps and trading APIs serve retail investors, active traders and sub-brokers across equities, F&O, commodities, currencies, mutual funds and IPOs. It earns money mainly from brokerage and trading-related fees. It is backed by Tiger Global, Kalaari Capital and Ratan Tata, and its Series C round in 2021–22 valued it at about $3.4B. It reported revenue of roughly ₹1,000+ Cr in FY25 and said in August 2026 that it had passed 2 crore customers. It is a fintech brokerage and not primarily an AI company.
