Nuro
Nuro licenses its AI-first Level 4 self-driving system, the Nuro Driver, to automakers, robotaxi and mobility platforms, and commercial fleets.
Nuro, founded in 2016 by former Waymo engineers, began with custom autonomous delivery vehicles. In September 2024 it pivoted to licensing the Nuro Driver, a Level 4 autonomy stack, to automakers and mobility providers. It is partnered with Lucid and Uber on a robotaxi program: Uber plans to deploy 20,000+ Lucid Gravity SUVs over six years starting in 2026, with a Bay Area commercial launch targeted for late 2026. It closed a $203M Series E at a $6B valuation in August 2025, with Uber and Nvidia investing. Total funding is about $2.3B. Reuters reported in June 2026 that Uber's commitment is near $500M.
