About Higher One
Founded in 2000 by Yale students, Higher One sold refund-management disbursement services, CASHNet campus payment software, data analytics and student checking accounts to higher-education institutions. It earned revenue from fees on institutional services and on student bank accounts. It listed on the NYSE (ticker ONE) in June 2010, and Blackboard acquired it in June 2016. Its OneAccount student checking and disbursements business was also sold in a separate deal.
