Enpal sells and installs rooftop solar systems, batteries, heat pumps and wallboxes, mainly through rental and subscription plans, to homeowners in Germany.
Enpal is a Berlin-based residential energy company, not an AI company. It sells and installs photovoltaic systems, home batteries and heat pumps, and offers subscription or rental plans as well as purchase. Founded in 2017, it became Germany's first green-tech unicorn in 2021 and was profitable from 2022. Revenue was about €905M in 2023 and about €860M in 2024. It raised a €110M round led by TPG in April 2025 and financed its leased assets with large debt and securitisation deals, including €367M in July 2026. It is a Dutch B.V. headquartered in Berlin. It had roughly 3,700 employees in May 2026 and closed its Hamburg site in July 2026, cutting about 85 jobs.
