Shannon from AiTec Australia: finding what small businesses should automate

I'm Shannon Gill, founder and CEO of AiTec Australia, based on the Gold Coast. We do AI automation for small businesses. Before anything gets built, we look for the wasted time, missed work and administration worth automating. The entry points are a A$40 Quick Scan and a A$400 Business Analysis.

Alongside that, we're working on intelligent trading research systems and software for quantum computing. My day-to-day tools are Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT and Base44. I'm still working out which one fits which part of the work best, and I'd rather say that plainly than pretend it's settled.

What I'd love from this community is feedback on how to explain a Quick Scan to a business owner who has never worked with AI. If anyone here has sold automation services to small businesses, I'd also value a conversation about what they wish they'd known early on.

From selling SEO to small business owners, the thing that worked best was not explaining the technology at all. Describe the output: "in 30 minutes we find the jobs that eat your week, and you get a one-page list with hours lost and what each would cost to fix". Then show a real example of that page, anonymised, for a trade they recognise, like a plumber or a dental clinic. Owners buy the result they can picture, not the method. A$40 is low enough that the main objection is "what will I actually get", so the sample page does most of the selling. If you put a few of those examples on your site as separate pages per industry, they also become your search traffic later.
