Lazarus AI raises $43M to give regulated firms control over AI models and data
Lazarus AI said the $43M round includes QBE, Mucker Capital, Motivate Ventures, State Farm Ventures, Wave Function Ventures, Indelible Solutions, Joyance Partners, AllegisNL Capital, One Way Ventures, AngelList, Techstars and Plug and Play. The release did not name a lead investor or a valuation. The Boston company sells AI systems that customers can run on premises, in sovereign environments or inside their own cloud accounts.
The company positions its product for insurers and other regulated organizations that want control over their data, models and deployment costs. Its pitch contrasts with hosted AI services where the vendor sets the rules for infrastructure and data handling.
Founders selling into regulated industries should note that deployment control is becoming a purchasing requirement, not a niche preference. Insurers backing the company suggests that risk teams are actively funding alternatives to cloud-only AI stacks.
