Shipped: Six free macOS menu bar apps for builders: AI usage, Git, dev servers, deploys
If you live in Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT all day, UsageBar shows how much of each limit you've used, when it resets, and when you're on pace to hit 100%, right in your Mac's menu bar.
It's one of six small free apps I built for my own daily dev work:
- UsageBar — Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT usage, with a heads-up at 80% and 95%
- CommitBar — every Git repo at a glance: commit, push and pull from the menu bar
- RunBar — start and stop dev servers (npm, bun, Flutter, Laravel, Firebase) in one click
- StackBar — Node, Bun, Flutter, Java, Python and Firebase CLI: installed vs latest, one-click updates
- BuildBar — Netlify deploys, with retry and rollback from the menu
- PumpBar — dependency upgrades across your projects, one at a time, with rollback
All six are signed and notarized by Apple, update themselves, and run on macOS 13+ (Apple Silicon). Free: entelxcore.com/free-tools
Question for the group: what do you check ten times a day that should live in your menu bar?
