The centerpiece is Xmind Agent, which can begin from a thought, a local file, a Notion document or a link, then run web research and revise an existing map through conversation. Agent is available on every Xmind plan, but work consumes AI credits. Agent runs on the web, on desktop and on Android, and chat history syncs across devices. Beyond the conversation and the open map, it can draw on MCP, Skills and web search when a task requires them.
The MCP layer lets outside assistants work on the same files. Xmind's MCP server connects Claude, Claude Code, Codex and ChatGPT through a Streamable HTTP endpoint, and the user authenticates before the assistant can read or edit maps. Xmind's own setup guide says the server works with cloud maps, while Superpower Daily notes that a separate ChatGPT plugin offers similar map reading and editing functions.
