Salesforce agrees to acquire voice agent startup Cresta, reportedly for $2.7B

Salesforce said on November 2, 2026 that it has signed a definitive agreement to buy Cresta, a voice-first customer experience platform. Its voice agents take on complex calls from start to finish, and live guidance flows to human representatives during conversations. Salesforce did not disclose terms. The Information, citing a person familiar with the deal, reported a price of roughly $2.7 billion, a figure Salesforce has not confirmed. Cresta's last public valuation was $1.6 billion, set in a March 2022 Series C round.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of Salesforce's fiscal 2028, roughly February through April 2027, pending regulatory approvals. Salesforce plans to place Cresta's voice agents inside Service Cloud, pairing them with its own agents so digital support can extend into phone calls, according to Silicon Republic. Marriott, Comcast and Alaska Airlines are named as Cresta customers, per CMSWire. Support for the contact center and telephony platforms customers use today stays in place after closing.
This is the third Salesforce agreement in roughly two weeks. Earlier, Salesforce agreed to buy Rune Technologies and, on October 20, announced a $5.66 billion enterprise value deal for Braze, a customer engagement platform, offering $47.50 per share in cash, according to its SEC filing.
Why it matters
For founders of voice agent companies, the deal shows an incumbent buying voice capability instead of building it. Standalone vendors will need to prove outcomes that a CRM suite cannot easily reproduce, and they will need a plan for fitting into larger customer-service platforms. The reported price also gives the market one reference point: about 1.7 times Cresta's 2022 valuation, according to FourWeekMBA.
For operators and investors, the consequences reach partners and buyers. Rival contact center vendors that work with Cresta now share their customers' calls with a Salesforce company, as CMSWire points out, which may push them to reassess partnerships. Buyers evaluating voice AI should plan around Cresta's current product, since the close is months away and integration follows. Investors should treat the $2.7 billion figure as unconfirmed, because it rests on a single source.
