Wafer, a Y Combinator Summer 2025 company, builds autonomous agents that profile AI inference workloads and optimize the serving stack: kernels, batching, scheduling, memory layout and hardware. It sells dedicated deployments and a serverless API for open models, with usage-based pricing, to hardware vendors, cloud platforms (e.g. DigitalOcean) and AI teams. It raised a $4M seed in April 2026 led by Fifty Years. In September 2026 it raised a $40M Series A co-led by Marathon and Chemistry at a reported $200M+ valuation (about $220M post-money, per the company).
