Unacademy
Unacademy, run by Sorting Hat Technologies, sells subscription courses, live classes, mock tests and mentoring to Indian students preparing for competitive exams. Its portfolio includes PrepLadder, Graphy and the AI language-learning app Airlearn. It raised roughly $840–880M in total and peaked at a valuation of about $3.4B in 2021. Operating revenue was ₹702 crore in FY25, down 16% year on year. upGrad closed an all-stock acquisition of Unacademy on 1 September 2026 for about $200–206M, a drop of more than 90% from the peak. Co-founder Gaurav Munjal stays on as CEO.
