Starburst
Starburst, founded in 2017 by the creators of the open-source Trino engine, offers Starburst Enterprise (self-managed) and Starburst Galaxy (managed SaaS). In 2026 it launched an "Enterprise Intelligence Platform" with AIDA, an AI Data Assistant that lets users query data in natural language. Customers are large enterprises such as Comcast, DoorDash and DBS Bank. It sells through software subscriptions. It raised about $414M in total and was valued at $3.35B in a Series D in February 2022. It reportedly had a few hundred employees in 2026.
