Stack Overflow, founded in 2008, runs the largest public developer Q&A community. Its revenue now comes mainly from Stack Internal, an enterprise knowledge product with generative-AI features, and from data licensing deals with AI labs such as Google (2024). Stack Internal reportedly has about 25,000 customer companies. Annual revenue reportedly roughly doubled to about $115M, and losses narrowed from $84M in FY2023 to $22M. The company raised about $153M before Prosus acquired it in 2021 for about $1.8B.
