OakNorth Bank
OakNorth is a UK bank that lends to the 'missing middle' of growing SMEs, mainly in property, real estate and other sectors. It also offers business and personal savings accounts, and its cloud and data-driven credit platform is also sold to other banks. It was founded in 2015 by Rishi Khosla and Joel Perlman and entered the US market in 2023. For 2025 it reported £223m pre-tax profit, about £606m turnover and £2.8bn of gross originations, with roughly 40% of originations coming from the US. It reached a $5B valuation in 2021 and has raised about $962M in total, including a $440M round led by SoftBank Vision Fund in 2019.
