Materiom
Materiom runs the Materiom Commons, an open-access database and community platform of bio-based material recipes, with a Gemini-powered AI assistant (Materiom AI, beta). It also offers AI-driven discovery, an autonomous lab for experimental data, and applied research. Its users are scientists, designers, start-ups, manufacturers and brands, and the user directory lists over 18,000 users. The platform is free to use, and the company is registered in the UK as a community interest company (Materiom C.I.C., incorporated 2018). It appears to be funded mainly by grants and accelerators, including Innovate UK, Horizon Europe, Google.org and Fast Forward. PitchBook lists a $271K grant in 2022.
