Foodforecast sells a SaaS platform that forecasts demand for short-shelf-life foods such as baked goods and sandwiches. The forecasts update intraday and daily and feed into store production and ordering workflows. Customers include food service, bakery and retail operators such as SSP Germany and Eat Happy. The platform launched commercially in 2022 and is used in several thousand European stores. The company says it has helped customers prevent more than 8,800 tons of food waste. It raised over €3M in 2024 and an €8M Series A in February 2026, co-led by SHIFT Invest and ECBF.
