Wilmington, United States · founded 2013 · ≈50 (Jul 2026, Tracxn; earlier estimates 90–120+) employees · Software Publishers · clarifai.com

Clarifai was founded in 2013 by Matthew Zeiler. It began in computer vision and grew into a platform for data labeling, model training, inference and vendor-agnostic compute orchestration across cloud, on-prem and air-gapped environments. Customers include enterprises, developers and US government and defense programs. It sells through SaaS and usage-based pricing. It raised about $100M in total, including a $60M Series C in Oct 2021 led by NEA. In May 2026 Nebius hired its core engineering and research team, including Zeiler, acquired its patent portfolio and licensed its inference and orchestration tech.
