BGL Group, based in Peterborough, runs price-comparison sites (Compare the Market in the UK, LesFurets in France) and an insurance distribution and outsourcing arm. That arm sells motor, home and life cover under its own brands (Budget Insurance, Dial Direct, Beagle Street) and for partner brands. It earns money from commissions and fees on comparison and distribution, plus insurance sold under its own brands. It reported sales of about £714M and profit of about £172M for the year to June 2019. Tracxn records a roughly $896M funding round in Nov 2017 at a $3B valuation, and an employee count of 766 in May 2026. The company appears to be an insurance and comparison business rather than an AI company.
