About Scout Motors

Scout Motors is not an AI company. It is an EV maker that revives the International Harvester Scout brand and was founded in 2022 as an independent US company backed by Volkswagen Group. It is developing the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup, each offered as a full EV or a range-extended EV, for US consumers. The company has said it will sell through its own retailer network. It is investing over $2B in a 1,100-acre plant in Blythewood, SC, plus a further $300M supplier park announced in 2025. The plant is planned for 200,000 vehicles a year and 4,000+ jobs. Customer production is expected in late 2027 or early 2028, and CEO Scott Keogh reported 150,000+ pre-orders in Feb 2026. It announced Charlotte, NC as its global HQ in Nov 2025.
