Roofstock operates an online marketplace for buying and selling leased single-family rental (SFR) homes. It also offers investor tools through brands such as Stessa, Mynd and RentPrep. Customers are retail and institutional real estate investors and rental property sellers. It earns money from transactions and from software and property-management services. It was founded in 2015 and has raised about $365M, with a Series E as its latest stage. Reports cite roughly $9–10B in cumulative transaction volume. It cut headcount in 2023–2025 and moved toward institutional portfolio sales and short-term rental management, including a 2025 investment in Casago. Roofstock One, its fractional-investing product, was wound down in 2023.
