About Relativity Space
Relativity Space is developing Terran R, a two-stage reusable rocket aimed at competing with SpaceX's Falcon 9, and has retired its earlier 3D-printed Terran 1. Terran R's first launch is planned for late 2026 from Cape Canaveral. The company sells launch services under multi-launch contracts, with customers including SES, and it reported a Terran R backlog of over $2.9 billion in 2025. Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt took a controlling stake and became CEO in March 2025. In June 2026 the company announced a privately funded Mars orbiter for 2028.
