Proofpoint is a SaaS cybersecurity company. Its products cover email security, identity threat defense, data loss prevention, security awareness training, e-discovery and archiving. It sells to mid-size and large organizations, directly and through resellers. It IPO'd in 2012, then went private in 2021 when Thoma Bravo bought it for about $12.3B. Revenue was over $1B in 2020, its last public year. It bought Hornetsecurity in 2025. Tracxn counts about 5,261 employees as of Aug 2026.
