Platform Science
Connected-vehicle telematics and fleet-management platform (Virtual Vehicle) with ELD, safety and driver apps, sold to trucking fleets, OEMs and logistics providers.
Platform Science sells Virtual Vehicle, an open connected-vehicle platform. It links in-cab hardware, factory-installed OEM telematics and third-party driver apps to fleet back-office software for compliance (ELD), safety, routing and analytics. Customers are North American trucking fleets and truck OEMs such as Daimler Truck North America, which co-developed the platform. It earns revenue from SaaS subscriptions and hardware. It raised a $115M Series C led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 in 2021 and a $125M Series D in 2024, bringing total funding to roughly $293M. In September 2024 it agreed to acquire Trimble's global transportation telematics business units, and Trimble became a shareholder.
