Genesys, founded in 1990, sells Genesys Cloud, a subscription CCaaS and AI experience-orchestration platform. Its customers are mid-sized and large organizations in retail, financial services, government and healthcare. It is privately held, owned mainly by Permira and Hellman & Friedman, with TCV also listed as an owner. It raised $580M at a $21B valuation in 2021 and a $1.5B strategic investment led by Salesforce Ventures and ServiceNow in July 2025. Revenue was above $2B in 2022, and estimates for later years range from $2.6B to $3B. Headcount is about 6,000–7,400.
