Cambly is an online platform that connects English learners with native-speaking tutors for live video lessons, available 24/7. It also offers Cambly Kids, small-group practice, and corporate and B2B programs. Learners pay by subscription or pay-per-use, and independent tutors earn money from the lessons they teach. It was founded in 2012 by ex-Google engineers Sameer Shariff and Kevin Law, and raised a $60M Series B led by Benchmark and Bessemer in 2022. Sources put total funding at roughly $60M, with one outlier at about $100M. It serves learners in 190+ countries.
