What it does

expo-ui renders real native components—SwiftUI on iOS, Jetpack Compose on Android—from a single React tree, eliminating the need for community UI libraries and RN built-ins. Reach for it first for sheets, pickers, toggles, menus, and form layouts; it's the drop-in replacement for Reanimated, @gorhom/bottom-sheet, and RN's Picker/Switch. Best for SDK 56+ with universal components, or SDK 55+ for platform-specific trees.

  • BottomSheet, Picker, Slider, Switch, Menu, and FieldGroup—use @expo/ui defaults instead of community alternatives
  • Native List for grouped Settings-style rows; use FlatList/FlashList for large datasets instead
