About Ribbit Capital

Overview

Fintech-focused venture firm.

History and team

Venezuelan entrepreneur Meyer "Micky" Malka founded Ribbit Capital in 2012. Before that he had started several financial services companies, including Banco Lemon in Brazil. The firm announced a $100 million debut fund with Malka as sole general partner. Malka is still managing partner. Nick Shalek and Nikolay Kostov are listed as general partners, and other partners and general partners appear on third-party directories. Ribbit's SEC filings show Ribbit Capital VI and VII. A January 2022 filing showed about $1.15 billion raised for the seventh fund. Its Form ADV reports about $20.8 billion in discretionary assets as of December 31, 2025. Ribbit does not publicly name a partner who leads AI investing.

AI investing

Ribbit's mandate is financial services technology, and its AI deals tend to sit close to that theme or to the infrastructure beneath it. Valon, a 2026 Series D, is described as an AI-native operating system for regulated finance and applies AI to mortgage servicing. Other recent deals are broader, such as the AI software company Cognition and the robotics-software startup Enigma. Founders outside finance have been backed too. Public sources do not give a formal AI thesis from the firm.

Stages and check sizes

Ribbit has invested from seed through growth and has led rounds, including Enigma's seed. The firm does not publish a check size range. Third-party directories give conflicting figures, so we do not state one. Founders should ask the firm directly.
