Volantis
Volantis designs a new AI inference architecture that uses photonics (an optical fabric linking many memory chips) to raise memory capacity and bandwidth together. Its first system, A-1, is designed for models above 20 trillion parameters at up to 10,000 tokens per second per user. The company raised a $9M seed in 2025 and an $88M Series A in October 2026, co-led by Lachy Groom and Abstract Ventures. It plans to deliver its first integrated inference engines to customers in 2027. It is pre-revenue and sells hardware.
