Uala (Treatwell)
Uala was founded in Milan in 2013. It sells appointment scheduling, CRM and analytics software to beauty salons and wellness centres, plus a consumer app and site for booking treatments. It grew through acquisitions (Bucmi, Funkmartini, Balinea) and raised roughly $22–23M from investors including Immobiliare.it and Bessemer. In September 2022 it merged into Treatwell, and the combined group reported 750+ employees and 45,000+ partner salons. This is a beauty-tech business, not an AI company.
