Sonic is a privately held telecom and ISP that builds and operates its own fiber network. It sells flat-priced, uncapped fiber internet, voice, colocation and hosting to homes and businesses. Founded in 1994 by Dane Jasper and Scott Doty, it describes itself as the largest independent ISP in Northern California and has about 150,000 customers. It serves the Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles and Dallas, and its LinkedIn page says it began service outside California in 2026. This is a telecom company, not an AI company.
