Paychex provides human capital management software and outsourced services: payroll, HR administration (ASO and PEO), retirement plans, insurance, and the Perks benefits marketplace. It serves about 840,000 customers, roughly 800,000 of them payroll clients, and supports about 2.6 million HR-outsourcing worksite employees (FY2026). It earns revenue from recurring software and service fees, PEO and insurance revenue, and interest on client funds. FY2026 revenue was about $6.5B, up 17%, helped by the April 2025 Paycor acquisition. It launched the agentic AI engine WISE (Workforce Intelligence Strengthened by Expertise) in 2026 and the WISE Hire recruiting product.
