Lunar
Lunar is a Danish digital challenger bank founded in Aarhus in 2015 and licensed as a bank in 2019. It serves more than one million users in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, including about 40,000 business users (January 2026). Revenue comes from subscriptions, transaction fees and interest income, and fees were about 70% of operating income in 2025. Lunar raised a €210M Series D in 2021 and about €46M in January 2026. In 2025 it cut its pre-tax loss to DKK 224.5M and targets break-even in 2026. It also launched a GenAI voice assistant in 2026, but it is a bank rather than a pure AI company.
