Apptio
Apptio builds subscription software that analyzes IT costs, consumption and performance, and links technology spend to business outcomes, with products spanning IT financial management, cloud cost optimization and Agile portfolio management. Its customers are large enterprises and government bodies, and IBM said in 2023 that it served more than 1,500 clients, including over half of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2007 and based in Bellevue, Washington, the company was taken public in 2016 at a $525 million valuation, bought by Vista Equity Partners in 2019 for $1.9 billion, and acquired by IBM for $4.6 billion, a deal completed in August 2023. Reported revenue was about $400 million on a trailing twelve-month basis as of mid-2023.
