About Rivos
Rivos designed server-class chips on the open RISC-V instruction set. Its design paired a RISC-V CPU with a GPGPU and a CUDA-compatible software approach, aimed at hyperscale and enterprise AI workloads. It was founded in 2021 and raised about $250M in an April 2024 round, roughly $370M in total. Meta had been a major customer, and in September–October 2025 it agreed to acquire the company at a reported valuation of around $2B. Forge reports the deal closed in December 2025, and Rivos now operates as part of Meta's in-house silicon effort (MTIA).
