About Qunar.com

Qunar was founded in Beijing in 2005. It runs a mobile app and website where consumers compare and book flights, hotels, train and bus tickets, car rentals, attraction tickets and tour packages. It earns money mainly from booking commissions and from advertising and listing fees paid by airlines, hotels and agencies. Baidu bought a majority stake for $306M in 2011, and Qunar listed on Nasdaq in 2013. Ctrip, now Trip.com Group, acquired control in 2015, and Qunar is now one of Trip.com Group's brands. In 2025 it launched AI products, including an AI Travel Assistant registered as an application-level large model, a flight pre-sales assistant and an AI Travel Toolbox. Tracxn counted about 2,973 employees in March 2026.
