M-Files sells a metadata-driven, AI-native information management platform. It includes the Aino generative AI assistant, AI agents, workflow automation and the Hubshare collaboration tool. Customers range from SMEs to global enterprises, including regulated sectors such as financial services and manufacturing. The company says it has more than 6,000 customers in over 100 countries. It sells software by subscription (SaaS). Its annual recurring revenue grew more than 20% in 2023. It raised about $155–160M in total, including a Series C of about $80M in 2021, with investors such as Bregal Milestone and Tesi.
